DSL Setup for Windows NT via DHCP

Please note that this is the recommended setup for NT workstations and NOT recommended for fiel servers. Be sure that you have installed a Network Interface Card (NIC) and it's working properly.

  • Click on the "tart" button.
  • Click on "Settings".
  • Click on "Control Panel".
  • Double click on the "Network" icon.
  • Click on the "Protocols" tab and you will see the following screen:

If "TCP/IP Protocol" is not listed here, you will have to add it by clicking "Add" and select "TCP/IP Protocol" again. This sequence will add "TCP/IP Protocol" to the window as seen above.

Configure TCP/IP

  • Click on "TCP/IP Protocol", select "Properties" and you will see the following screen.

  • Make sure your network cadr is selected under "Adapter"
  • Select "Obtain an IP address from server".
  • Click on the "DNS" tab and you will see the following screen:

  • Make sure all fields on this window are blank. ANy values that are entered must be deleted.
  • Click "OK" and you will return to the "Network" control panel.
  • Click "OK" again.
  • Reboot your computer

You are now configured to use DSL via DHCP!
